Paula was born and raised in Austin, a true and rare native. Paula's parents went through a very contentious divorce when she was very young which developed in Paula a need to advocate for children of divorce.
Paula has always had a love of the law and began working for her first law firm in 1995, focusing on child support enforcement. She has worked for attorneys and county offices continuously since then, including working in a county passport office. Her long and diverse experiences have made her invaluable to clients.
Paula is a Board Certified Family Law Paralegal, having passed the challenging Texas Board of Legal Specialization's paralegal exam in 2015. Less than 1% of all paralegals in Texas are Board Certified in Family Law. Paula has worked for Patricia L. Brown & Associates since 2002. She focuses almost exclusively on family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, modifications, asset disposition, adoption, etc. She also handles wills, powers of attorney, directive to physicians, and related documentation.
Paula has two adult children, whom she raised as a single mom. She is grateful to have had so many family and friends support her in her endeavors, as well as in the raising of her children. Paula's life experiences, which include a divorce, help her understand and empathize with clients going through a divorce,
We are thankful to have someone of Paula's experience in our firm as well as someone with her compassion for our clients. We've received many comments from clients on her competence and her sensitivity. particularly with children.
In her spare time, Paula enjoys reading and spending time with her many friends and family in the Round Rock, Williamson County, and Austin areas.
