Ali A. Akhtar Austin, Texas
Ali A. Akhtar manages the firm's Austin office and handles all of the plaintiffs' cases, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, consumer protection, employment, and other such matters. He also represents and counsels clients in intellectual property matters, including copyright and trademark registration and enforcement. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, Mr. Akhtar grew up in small towns in Kentucky and Kansas. He then attended the University of Miami and graduated with a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Mathematics, in 1995. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School, consistently ranked one of the top ten law schools in the country, in 1999. While in Michigan, he served as Associate Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. He also worked for the Child Advocacy Law Clinic, where he successfully represented the interests of abused and neglected children in family court bench trials. Mr. Akhtar has practiced in Austin and the surrounding areas continuously since 1999, and has handled trial work both large and small, in cases of automobile accident injury, medical malpractice, contract disputes, and infringement of intellectual property. In addition to being active in legal practice and in his community, Mr. Akhtar enjoys writing on a number of legal and non-legal topics. He maintains a website entitled, "The Austintatious Lawyer," which contains a number of his short articles and information resources on a variety of legal topics (injury, insurance, consumer transactions, etc.) of interest to the average Texas citizen and consumer.
